The North Cumbria Performance Centre is based at Penrith Leisure Centre and in order to meet the criteria of a Performance Centre it is made up of a consortium of the following junior clubs: 

Penrith         Harraby         Cockermouth        Dalston         Appleby         Kendal         Langwathby 

 

Penrith Leisure Centre: this will be the primary venue for coaching within the North Cumbria Performance Centre.

The Leisure Centre underwent an extensive multi-million pound refurbishment and extension in 2005. The improved and extended facility comprises of 6 Court Sports Hall, which has provision for a variety of sports and activities on a competitive or social basis. The hall can also cater for events of over 600 seated persons in raked foldaway seating and further seating on temporary carpeted flooring, making it an ideal venue for sporting and cultural events.

 

Appleby Sports Centre: is a multi-purpose community facility that has been created with and for the people of Appleby. The Centre is situated at Appleby Grammar School. There are spacious changing facilities for teams and officials and the building has full disabled access. Appleby Badminton Club was formed in September 2006 when the new four court Appleby Sports Centre opened. They have two club nights each week plus a junior coaching session.

 

Cockermouth Leisure Centre: is a small but busy facility which offers many varied activities for all age groups and abilities. It is close to the town centre and operated and managed by Carlisle Leisure Limited. There are 3 badminton courts within the Sports Hall along with changing rooms and showers. The Badminton Club has 1 club night for seniors, 1 for juniors and on Sunday mornings has 1 hour for junior club and 1 hour for any young people to come along and play and get some coaching, advertised in Sports Centre. There are open sessions available to any young people in school holidays, again advertised in the Sports Centre.

 

Dalston: Badminton club plays in the Sports Hall at Caldew School where there are 4 badminton courts in a purpose built sports hall along with showers and changing facilities

 

Harraby: Club plays at the Richard Rose Academy in Carlisle where there are 4 badminton courts along with showers and changing facilities for both male and females. 

 

Langwathby: Badminton club plays in the village Hall at Langwathby where there is 1 badminton court which has been newly refurbished in 2008.

 

Kendal: Club plays at the Queen Katherine School where there are 4 badminton courts along with showers and changing facilities for both male and females.
